The Ruby Ribbon Club provides local businesses
and professionals with an opportunity to support a variety of
local AIDS service organizations through a minimum annual donation
of $500, which is fully tax-deductible. This particular donation
campaign is an opportunity for local businesses and professionals
to be acknowledged for their community leadership by underwriting
the expenses associated with mounting Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Ottawa
awareness and fundraising campaign supporting the activities
of seven local charities.
These local charitable organizations are dependent
on community support. They work with modest budgets to provide
care and support for persons in need in our community, and to
promote awareness so that our young people do not needlessly
expose themselves to risk. The financial support of the local
community does make an enormous difference.
Businesses and professionals who join the Ruby Ribbon Club are invited to attend a networking cocktail party taking place in September.
This is the 11th year that the Ruby Ribbon Club will come together to support the seven local agencies that provide services to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS in our community. Since 2001, the Club has donated over $150,000 to Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Ottawa, ensuring that 100% of walkers’ pledges are turned over to the organization designated by the walker as the beneficiary of his or her efforts.
 Welcome to our 2011 Ruby Ribbon Club committee chair, Anneke Cundasawmy. Anneke has been a passionate supporter of other Bruce House initiatives, and she is honored to take on the role of chair. With her experience at Keller Williams Ottawa Realty she will no doubt bring her energy, integrity and enthusiasm to this year's event.
Le Club “Ruban Rubis” offre aux commerçants et aux professionnels de la région de la capitale nationale l’occasion d’appuyer une variété d’organismes locaux qui offrent leurs services aux personnes affectées par le SIDA, par le moyen d’un don annuel minimum de 500$, lequel est entièrement déductible pour fins d’impôt. Cette campagne visant particulièrement les commanditaires commerciaux et professionnels leur offre l’occasion de se voir reconnâitre comme « leader » communautaire en défrayant les coûts reliés à la Marche action SIDA Banque Scotia, coûts qui découlent de la sensibilisation du public à la Marche ainsi que de la campagne de levée de fonds qui appuie les activités de sept organismes bénévoles locaux.
Ces organismes bénévoles locaux dépendent de l’appui communautaire. Ils travaillent avec des budgets modestes pour offrir de l’appui et des soins aux personnes en besoin au sein de notre communautée, et pour sensibiliser les jeunes aux risques, afin que ceux-ci ne s’y exposent pas inutilement. L’appui financier de la communauté locale fait une différence énorme.
Les commerçants et les professionnels qui se joignent au Club “Ruban Rubis” sont invités à un cocktail dont l’un des buts est justement de promouvoir la prise de contact et la formation de réseaux entre gens d’affaires et professionnels. Le cocktail aura lieu en septembre.
Cela fait onze ans maintenant que le Club “Ruban Rubis” se réunit chaque année pour montrer son appui aux sept agences locales qui fournissent des services aux personnes vivant avec le VIH / SIDA ou affectées par le VIH / SIDA au sein de notre communauté. Depuis 2001, le Club a contribué plus de 150 000$ à la Marche action SIDA Banque Scotia d’Ottawa, assurant ainsi que 100 % de l’argent ramassée par chaque marcheur est versée à l’organisme désigné par le marcheur comme bénéficiaire de ses efforts.
